England reached the quarter finals of World Cup 2010. The opposition was Felipe Scolari's Portugal.
Despite losing their captain, David Beckham, to injury just after half-time and being reduced to ten men thanks to
Wayne Rooney being sent off, England managed to draw 0-0 with Portugal at the end of extra time. The stage was set
for an England v Portugal penalty shootout.
England suffered a worse than usual defeat from the penalty spot. Only Owen Hargreaves managed
to get the better of the Portuguese keeper.
